Discover the Three Strands of Science
The fourth grade team teaches the
following:
1) Life Science -----------ˆ Mrs. Morono
2) Earth Science
----------ˆ
Mrs. Germain
3) Physical Science ---------ˆ Mrs. Morono and Mrs. Germain
(Classes will travel to their non-homeroom
teachers)
Children are naturally curious about the world around them and
that curiosity turns into energy in a classroom whenever there are hands-on
science activities and science discussions going on. As adults, we can only
imagine what science and technology will bring to childrenÕs lives someday. Their generation will be developing
revolutionary new technologies we have not yet imagined.
The
fourth grade team would like to provide some resources for parents to enrich
and reinforce the concepts we teach and to expose your child to the world of
science. Our hope is that your
child will begin to think about what areas of science interest him/her and
perhaps someday pursue a career in science, technology, engineering, or
mathematics.
There are a host of
educational programs both online and on television networks to engage, inspire,
and cause one to ponder the world around us. We encourage you to take some time with your child to watch,
learn, and discuss how science affects our lives and where science may take us
someday. If you have any sites you
would like us to add to this list, please contact your childÕs teacher. Enjoy!

SOCIAL STUDIES

We learn about
New Hampshire government, history, geography, and how technology changed our
state. We learn about cities,
towns, mountains, rivers, lakes, and bordering states; also about the three
branches of our state government; also about the Abenakis and Penacook tribes
and their interactions with settlers.
